Video wall or LED screen? Features and differences to choose the best for big events

Big events are by no means easy.
In motion is an entire organisational machine that is made up of specialised personnel and tools equal to the event and the size of the event itself.
One has to disentangle oneself from the choice of appropriate infrastructure to be placed in very large spaces, indoors or outdoors. Not to mention the importance of the choice of projection media.

Today there is more and more talk of video walls and LED screenswithout even knowing for sure what the precise differences between one and the other are for broadcasting, promotional and celebratory videos. There are, in fact, several solutions to meet this need, each of which has its own peculiarities that make it the most or least suitable for each specific case.
Since, all too often, confusion arises among end-users, to the point of considering them the same thing where they are not the same thing at all, it is a good idea, before assessing which device can best meet one's needs, to start with a meticulous analysis of the characteristics and differences.

Video wall: what exactly it is

Let us start by saying that the video wall is a fairly recent solution, but not as recent as the LED screen which, on the other hand, represents the most modern evolution of vision systems, precisely because it is based on the latest LED technology.
In essence, the video wall is a monitor consisting of several displays joined together.
This guarantees a high degree of customisation as these panels define a final modular device that can be assembled at will, theoretically without space limitations.
With the evolution of technology, what was the only real 'limitation' of this device, given by the presence of an unsightly frame, has been overcome, supplanted by the development of ever more sophisticated and aesthetically pleasing systems.

Led screen: what exactly is it

LED screens, on the other hand, are devices made up of individual panels connected to each other to create large areas, but can also be used individually for image transmission.
These are the most suitable solution when you want to transmit several images simultaneously within an event.

Their strengths are:
- ability to exploit cheaper LED technology;
- ease of transport, given their light weight;
- ability to view several images at the same time for even a very large audience.

When to use the video wall and when to use the LED screen?

La choice between video wall and led screen is, of course, left to those charged with the technical and technological organisation of a major event. And it is precisely this freedom of choice that raises more than a few doubts, given the performance characteristics of both devices.
Generally speaking, led screens are preferred when, rather than modular solutions, ease of use is preferred. These, in fact, are large monitors that are immediately ready for use, as it is not necessary to assemble the various panels.
I video wallon the other hand, are ideal in all those cases where a projection onto even very large walls is desired.
This takes place thanks to the supports that allow modular assemblies with unlimited configurations.

There are many factors to consider, but from now on, making an informed choice will probably be easier.
