THE COMPANY
Every space has potential.
The right technology makes the difference.
For over thirty years we have worked in the B2B channel, providing audiovisual technologies and solutions for Italian schools, companies, hotels and professional spaces.
A specialised team, a network of partners across the country and the solidity of an international group.
Born in Vigolzone, in the province of Piacenza, Ligra DS has built over the years a solid reputation in the field of professional audiovisual technologies and solutions for the world of education. Schools, companies, public institutions, hospitality venues, museums, places of worship and professional spaces of every kind: technology that improves the communication, learning and experience of the people who live in those spaces every day.
Since 2018 it has been part of an international group dealing with diversified technologies: from professional audio-video to the production of projection screens, from display-mounting systems to LED lighting systems, through to software development. A solid, financially stable and fully digitalised structure, with a highly specialised team.

About us
For 30 years we have designed and distributed professional audiovisual solutions for those who cannot afford for anything to go wrong.
Ligra DS operates exclusively in the B2B sphere. Our clients are system integrators, installers, companies, schools, universities, museums, sports arenas. They entrust us with their projects because, beyond products, we offer an in-house technical team, design consulting, 24/48-hour logistics and after-sales support.
Ligra was founded in 1968 as Modern Plastic, an Italian manufacturer of projection screens. In 1975 it won the Gold Mercury International Award. In 1976 it was among the world's leading manufacturers in the sector, with clients such as Techno, Apex, Optex and Jessop.
In 1994 it became Ligra, adding the distribution of audio/video accessories to its screen production. From 2008 it broadened its scope towards the Education and professional ProAV markets. Since 2018 it has been part of LGC Holding, an international group of 6 companies covering national and European distribution, screen production, display mounts, software and LED lighting systems.
Today we serve over 8,400 active clients in Italy, distribute more than 45 international brands — 25 exclusively — and sell around 125,000 products a year from a 3,500 sqm warehouse with a storage capacity of 30,000 cubic metres.

What we do
A distributor that only sells products is not enough for us. Our in-house team of engineers supports the client from the pre-sales stage: needs analysis, proof of concept, design to the UNI 11799:2020 standard, product customisation for specific environments. All project documentation is produced in compliance with the standards recommended by SIEC, the Italian association of AV system integrators.
On the logistics side, we guarantee delivery within 24/48 hours with constant warehouse availability, integrated with the webstore and business processes. After-sales service — RMA management, design and technical help desk, certified training — is handled by the in-house Customer Care team.
For those with temporary needs, we also offer rental solutions, with no purchase commitment.
We have been AVIXA members since 2015 and part of the SIEC Community since 2017.
Ligra DS works across three market areas: ProAV, Education and Corporate.
In ProAV we serve system integrators, installers, entertainment service companies and global contractors on projects of any size and complexity. From the audio system of the Forum di Assago — host of the 2026 Winter Olympics, 12,700 seats — to the LED wall on the facade of the multi-storey car park at Capodichino Airport, to the audio system of the Circle in Milan with NEXO ePS12 speakers capable of 133 dB peaks.
In Education we work with schools, universities and specialised system integrators. We supplied 1,000 IPEVO V4K document cameras to the Alma Mater Studiorum of Bologna for blended teaching across five campuses. For the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart we installed 368 custom PTZ cameras to turn classrooms into interactive learning environments.
In Corporate we serve SMEs, large accounts, enterprises and global contractors with digital signage, video conferencing and visual communication solutions. The 120 Suzuki dealers who adopted BenQ monitors for digital signage in 2018 are a concrete example of how we work nationwide with continuity.
Sustainability
Ligra DS's warehouse produces 120,000 kWh a year through a rooftop photovoltaic system. More than 60% of that energy is fed back into the grid. More than 90% of the packaging used comes from recovered material, shaped to the product to reduce volume and transport costs. From 2025 we are introducing tamper-proof paper tape instead of PPL, for 100% recyclable packaging.
